This gag may make you think I take a lighthearted approach to the undead. Au Contraire! I firmly believe Zombies must die - - but first, I say, let's make them cry.

Crossing Intercartoonal Borders

OK, I have to explain this post. The "Vashon Island Peoples" comic strip (as seen below) runs in the same hometown newspaper as "Logjam". The paper's layout always places my strip directly underneath the VIP strip. When mysterious fellow-Vashon Islander and VIP cartoonist DeeBee drew a gag with characters looking down a manhole and apparently viewing my Logjam characters, I was surprised and had to laugh out loud. DeeBee had used the neat trick of ignoring the illusory cartoon border that separates comic strips from one another in most newspapers. Now that's just too much fun to ignore, so I decided to get into the act, and drew a "Logjam" strip that refers back to VIP! And here is the result, what DeeBee calls "a violation of interspatial cartoon dimension"....

Best Cartoon of 2008 Award

Hooray! The War on Science has been called off, and it's full steam ahead as the labcoats finally get back to the really important studies. I for one look forward to a brighter day of efficientized transambular elevationality, as envisioned in this cartoon. Maybe others agree with me, which might explain why this single-panel cartoon of mine was voted the 'Best of the Northwest for 2008' by Cartoonists Northwest at their 18th annual Toonies Awards Banquet.
